Entrepreneurship - Defined

People have different meaning and perception about entrepreneurship. It can mean from making money or doing some sort of business to employing people. Well, all of them are part of entrepreneurship. I jut thought of writing formal meaning of entrepreneurship. After all, this whole blog is about it, we might as well define it to begin with.
Dictionary.com defines entrepreneurship as following
A person who organizes and manages any enterprise, esp. a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk.
Definition can be tricky and each word has its meaning. It is true for above definition as well. If you break the above definition and take word out of it, it should give us following list
- Organizing
- Managing
- Considerable initiative
- Risk
With risk comes rewards. At the same time, it can result into failure as well, now that’s the fun part — failing and learning. ( I think that that’s only "perfect" way to learn )
Next time you examine any venture and if you don’t see all of above elements into venture, it is likely that it is NOT going to fly.
In other words, all those "Get Rich Quick" schemes, which assures you to make you millionaire without any risk or considerable initiative, well, it is NOT going to fly at all. Let’s be clear about it. It may make someone else rich ( The one who makes you such wrong promises ), but not you
